What is a digital advent calendar?

A digital advent calendar is an online calendar with 24 doors that open one by one from December 1 to 24. You fill them yourself with photos, voice messages, videos, notes or vouchers and share the calendar with one link. It arrives on time whether you live together or 600 kilometres apart.

How it works in three steps

  1. Fill the doors

Photo, voice, video, letter, voucher or link. Start with the easiest one: a photo.

  2. Preview as the recipient

The preview shows the calendar exactly as your partner will see it.

  3. Send the link

By messenger, by email or as a card with a QR code in the post. From December 1, one door opens every morning.

Fill your draft at your own pace, over several evenings if you like. Create my calendar

It is this simple

Three looks inside the editor, taken in the sample calendar. No account, no install, in the browser.

  1. AdventJoy editor in the light workshop design: door 6 is open, the grid of 24 doors on the left, the voice message with a play button on the right.

    Fill the doors

You pick a door, upload a photo or record a message. Saving happens by itself.

  2. AdventJoy preview: night sky with the constellation of 24 stars, twelve of them lit, and the open card of door 12 with the text Halfway.

    Preview as the recipient

The preview shows the sky exactly as your partner will see it on December 12.

  3. Sharing in AdventJoy: the recipient link to copy with buttons for WhatsApp and email, a QR code, next to it the field for a secret word and the printable card.

    Send the link

The purchase unlocks the link. You send it by messenger, or you print the card with the QR code and put it in an envelope.

What can you put behind the doors?

Each door can hold a photo, a voice message, a video, a voucher, a note in five fonts or a link. Mix them however it suits the two of you. A door can be just one sentence.

  1. 01

    Photo

    Imago

The blurry one from the platform counts for more than the perfect holiday shot.

  2. 02

    Voice

    Vox Matutina

Your voice at seven in the morning, heard in bed with cold feet.

  3. 03

    Video

    Fenestra

Twenty seconds of kitchen, snow outside, you waving. That's plenty.

  4. 04

    Voucher

    Tessera

One breakfast in bed, redeemable next time you meet.

  5. 05

    Letter

    Epistula

For the things you don't say on the phone. In one of five fonts.

Plus a link button, for example to your song. Voice and video are included in both plans at no extra cost.

  • For your girlfriend

Memories, photos and small vouchers for the woman you like spending time with most.

  • For your boyfriend

Your voice in the morning, a photo from last weekend, a promise for the next one.

  • When you live together

The coffee is already there, and still a door is waiting at seven. Twenty-four mornings that start with you.

  • Your first Advent together

Your first December as a couple, kept day by day. It turns into a memory that stays.

Planning a calendar for customers or your team? For business

Picture the seventh of December

Your partner wakes up, reaches for the phone, and there is a new star. Behind it your voice from last night, a photo from your last summer or the song you played back then. The day starts with you before it has really started. Twenty-four times.

Honestly: you do not need a calendar for that. Send a voice message tomorrow morning, for no reason at all. The calendar only makes sure you do it twenty-four times, including on the days you would have forgotten.

We share the same sky

A star is added every day. The two halves of the heart grow towards each other, and on December 24 the constellation is complete. During the day the calendar shows a light view, in the evening the night.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a digital advent calendar cost?

Standard costs $19.99 once, Plus $29.99; until 15 November 2026 the launch price of $15.99 or $24.99 applies. There is no subscription. You can try five doors for free and pay when you unlock all 24.

Does the recipient need an app, an account or a smartphone?

No, a browser is enough. The calendar works on phones, tablets and computers, and a PIN can protect it if you like.

Where are my photos and voice messages stored?

On servers in Germany, without ads or trackers. When the term ends, we delete the calendar and its media; details are in the privacy policy.

Can I get my money back if it isn't right?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase, as long as the recipient link has never been opened. A short email to hello@bydaniwp.dev is enough; this goodwill refund is in addition to your statutory rights.

What is a digital advent calendar?

An online calendar with 24 doors that open one by one from December 1 to 24; the recipient opens it with a link in the browser. Each door can hold a note, a photo, a voice message, a video, a voucher or a link.

How do I create a digital advent calendar?

In three steps: fill the doors, preview as the recipient, share the link. You don't need an account for the draft, only when you pay.

When do the doors open, and does it still work after December 1?

Every day at midnight in the recipient's time zone; past days open right away, skipping ahead is not possible. So you can still give the calendar in the middle of December.

Can I still change things after sharing?

Yes, changes show up immediately, even for doors that are not open yet. The link stays the same.

Can you make an advent calendar you fill yourself online?

Several services let you fill a digital advent calendar yourself. They differ mainly in what fits behind a door and in how the recipient opens it. Three questions help you compare: are voice messages and videos possible, or only text and images? Does the recipient need an app or an account? Where is the data stored? With AdventJoy you fill 24 doors with text, photos, voice messages, videos or vouchers and send a link that opens in any browser.

What is the best way to send an advent calendar to someone far away?

A homemade calendar has to arrive in time, and 24 individually wrapped doors are heavy and expensive to post. There are three ways: send a small homemade calendar with fewer doors, send a message every day instead of a calendar, or use a digital calendar that arrives as a link and opens itself every morning. If you want something physical as well, combine both and post a card with a QR code on it.

What do you put in an advent calendar for adults?

Four groups work better than 24 of the same thing: small items that mean something to the person (their tea, a book, something with an inside joke), time together as a voucher (breakfast, a film, a Sunday walk), words (a memory, a poem, a voice message) and experiences (a song, a film, a recipe to cook together). The mix matters more than what each door costs.

Is a digital advent calendar better than a homemade one?

A homemade calendar is better when you see each other every day: unwrapping beats tapping, and the calendar hangs where you both walk past it. A digital one is better across distance, when voice or video belong in it, or when time is short, because it takes about an hour to make and still arrives at the end of November. You can also do both: a small homemade calendar, and a digital one for the days you are apart.

Start today. Your first star is waiting.

Fill your calendar at your own pace and give it even after December 1: past doors open right away.
